This time of year, it’s definitely natural as someone who loves to
travel, to reflect on the passing year and reminisce on my favorite
travel moments of the year! And that being said, of course, I wanted
to share some of my top 2023 travel moments with you! This is the
perfect way to close out the year and get those wheels turning on all
the travel moments that lie ahead in 2024! Good times behind, good
times ahead, so let’s do this!
February brought one of the greatest travel challenges I have ever
experienced. I am STILL trying to figure out how I let my bestie, Jen,
talk me into running the Disney Princess 1/2 Marathon! Honestly
though, I think it is one of the most unbelievable experiences I have
ever had. And experiencing it at Disney with friends was just the
icing on the cake. The hustle and bustle of the RunDisney Expo, the
early morning rush to get in place, running through a dark Magic
Kingdom with thousands of people cheering you on, crossing that
finishing line with a best friend…this was a trip for the books for
sure!
April showers bring May flowers, but May 2023 brought me our first
family trip with our adult kids and their spouses! We sailed on Virgin
Voyages Scarlet Lady and what a hit! It was so cool to experience an
“all adult’ trip with our kids on this cruise! The time spent
together, the fun, the experiences, the food, and of course the
laughs. This was a memory that I will never forget! If you think you
can’t have a fun family vacay with all adults, you are certainly wrong
here! There’s nothing cooler than hanging out with these kids and
enjoying an amazing trip together.
Next up, in July I got to see one of the most amazing sights in the
United States…..the Grand Canyon! Something to note here, I am 1000%
NOT an outdoors type of person. This type of adventure I was sure was
not for me…..I was WRONG! We did a helicopter tour and landed on the
canyon floor, it was an unforgettable experience. I never thought I
would love an experience like this, but it was so undeniably amazing
that all I could think of is all the other beautiful destinations and
beauty of the US that I can visit in the future!
Fast forwarding to September…..this would be my third trip to the west
coast in 2023, but my goodness, it was FULL of firsts and moments I
will always cherish! Disneyland! I had never visited for
“Halloweentime”, never got to attend Oogie Boogie Bash, and I most
definitely have never stepped a toe into Club 33 and all of these
amazing things happened in one trip! Overwhelmed with joy is a
complete understatement. All 3 of these things have been bucket list
items for me for years and to have them all happen in one trip. I
walked around on cloud nine and I still don’t think I’ve come down! By
far one of my favorite trips because of its many firsts and especially
the experience going into Club 33. I will be forever grateful for that
experience.
November brought a chill and a flight to the stunning island of
Ireland! I can safely say, I never thought I would ever go there. I
still can’t believe I had my first trip to Europe! And spending a week
on the Emerald Isle was such a wealth of adventure and experience!
This was a once and a lifetime adventure for sure! The culture, the
sights, the food, the friends. I loved every minute of it! We met so
many new friends and shared such an amazing adventure with them I will
always remember it!
What a whirlwind year! I am so grateful for all these amazing travel
memories. And as I said before, all I can think of now is how many
more memories are ahead! I hope after reading this, the travel bug
bites you too! I am excited for the new year ahead and planning more
adventures with you guys so you can make your own unforgettable travel
moments with your family and friends!
