I headed back to the west coast again this week for training at the
Disneyland Resort. As I spent more time here it just solidified how
much I love Disneyland so I thought I’d make a list, in no particular
order, of the top 5 reasons it is my favorite place to be! And why you
should not miss out on this historical destination if you are a true
Disney fan!

The chills, the tears, the lump in your throat, and even that
unmistakable feeling that Walt’s spirit lives here, it is the
nostalgia like none other that just oozes from Disneyland Park. As you
walk down this, the original Main Street, USA, the clip-clop of horse
hooves, the beep of the trolley horns, the sound of the Main Street
band and the tangible excitement from all the guests create a
symphony of sounds that is like no other on earth. I love the feeling
of history here, knowing this is where the entire vision for what we
have today started from. If not for Disneyland, there would certainly
be no Walt Disney World and so I am double thankful for this organ
story!

Strolling down Main Street in Disneyland Park, you’ll undoubtedly get
super hungry from all the delightful smells. And this brings me to my
next point…churros! And yes, I know that churros can be found just
about anywhere these days, but nowhere else on earth will you find
such a random selection of these warm sticks of pure sugary joy! From
Maple bacon to the original style and everything in between,
Disneyland, no doubt has the most insane selections for churros all
around the entire resort! These are no ordinary snacks, my friends! On
this trip, I had a tropical churro, which was my favorite variation to
date! A warm, fresh churro, rolled in pineapple sugar and topped with
coconut drizzle! Literally amazing, and no doubt the magic makes it
even better! Also, a side note…don’t sleep on the fruity cereal flavor!

Forget the monster lines and scheduling ahead of time…characters roam
randomly here and it doesn’t get much better than that! Yes, there are
designated places and times to meet some of your favorites but keep
your eyes open, you will always see characters roaming about their
“natural habitat” and they love stopping for a selfie or just to say
hi! This reminds me of the Disney I knew when my kids were babies.
Those magical times when you turn a corner and Mickey himself is
waiting there to give you a hug. This is a practice that is a lost
art, but not here!

Lace-up those sneakers and get ready to park hop! You are not ready
for how easy it is to make your way around Disneyland Resort! With
its compact size, you can go back and forth between parks, resorts,
and even good neighbor accommodations on foot! Let me give you some
perspective. You could actually fit about 50 Disneyland Resorts into
the Walt Disney World Resort! Now that is crazy but true! I love being
able to accomplish so many experiences packed into the resort in Land
in such an efficient timeframe! And the ease of staying at a
convenient resort literally multiplies by a million times here! It’s a
win-win!

Lastly, but most certainly not least, Disneyland is the home of my
most favorite parade of all time, Magic Happens! As it says in the
song, “Here’s what you came for”, and they are right! This parade
brings all the Disney feels in full force, it’s like childhood
happiness barreling down the street straight at you! I don’t know if
it’s the music, the floats, or just the feeling but this parade is
like the biggest ice cream sundae you could imagine with about 10
cherries on top! Watching this parade there is my literal favorite
thing to do!

Although my reasons may be personal, there are so many more reasons to
fall in love with the “OG” Disney! If your wish is to feel like you
are stepping back into a simpler time in Walt’s footsteps, you will
never be disappointed with an adventure to Disneyland Resort!
