I would trust Hagrid with my life. – Albus Dumbledore 

I was literally so excited to head over to Universal Orlando Resort last week to finally get to experience Hagrid’s Magical Creatures Motorbike Adventure! It has been on my radar since it’s announced opening. Always being a Harry Potter fan, I literally get butterflies each time I enter the Wizarding World of Harry Potter. It’s an immersive land like none other. With snow topped roofs, skulky dark alleys, whimsical witches and wizards, and kegs full of butterbeer, everywhere you look is simply…..magic. 

Hagrid’s Magical Creatures Motorbike Adventure replaces the former Dueling Dragons ride in the same location and they have delightfully repurposed the entrance of the latter. The queue for this ride boasts stunning views of the structures throughout the grounds of Hogwarts and epic views of the actual coaster in motion! I was literally blown away by how accurately sights from the movies were rebuilt as elements of the coaster. 

In this “story coaster”, Muggles are taken on a motorbike adventure thru the Forbidden Forest  at speeds up to 50 miles per hour while all long the way encountering Fluffy, the three headed dog, Cornish pixies, Devil’s snare, a centaur, and a Blast Ended Skrewt (this creature has yet to be seen in film), along with a stunning unicorn surprise as you come to the end of your adventure. At every turn I literally shrieked with complete surprise and amazement. 

As the given name of this coaster states, you will be riding in twos in a motorbike with sidecar! This motorbike of course is modeled from the one originally owned by none other than Sirius Black! I rode on the actual motorbike. It sits considerably higher than the sidecar. I had a perfect view of everything! This is one of the smoothest coasters that I have experienced, but you will be required to store your bag in a locker prior to loading and secure all loose items. This coaster has twists and turns, forward and backwards, and a few surprises that I just cannot give away! Let’s just say……..SHOCKING!!! 

Overall, this new coaster was more than I ever could have imagined! Frankly, it’s the best coaster I’ve ever rode! Yes…….ever! I honestly have to say this not just because of Hagrid’s, but Universal Orlando as a whole is a sleeping giant! They are a dark horse of magical and amazing experiences and they NEVER cease to blow my mind and put a smile on my face. Coming from the most devoted of Disney fans, I now MUST make a visit to my Universal friends each time I’m in town, otherwise my heart may just break! There’s no denying it’s a special place in its own right, especially thru the eyes of a mudblood like me!
