This week’s travels took me into the beautiful hills of my home state of West Virginia, back to one of my favorite places, The Greenbrier. I was invited to attend the premiere of Christmas at the Greenbrier, a new Fox Nation movie that will be released to the public on Thanksgiving. The movie will also be showing exclusively in resort rooms at the resort now!

Every time I visit America’s Resort, I discover new and amazing things to experience and see. It is truly a wonderful place to spend a little time away from the real world. And for those of you that are local, it’s perfect for a close long weekend getaway. I had two new and unique experiences on this particular visit that I’d like to highlight for you!

The Greenbrier’s spa

First off, I was able to visit the spa at the resort. The Greenbrier’s spa happens to be one of the top spas in the nation! And from my experience, I must agree with its accolades. The spa itself is stunning. Muted pastels and stunning murals carry throughout and every space echoes relaxation with elegant class. Its origins and history are rich as told by the resort. “The Greenbrier Spa has long been one of the resort’s most popular amenities. For nearly 250 years, guests have been attracted to The Greenbrier’s sulphur springs and the natural benefits of the mineral waters remain at the heart of The Greenbrier Spa experience.” –The Greenbrier

My experience was a therapeutic massage with my masseuse, Katie. She was knowledgeable, professional, and friendly. I will definitely come back and specifically ask for her because her level of service was nothing short of outstanding!
The spa offers a huge variety of services from massages to facials, manicures, pedicures, and much much more. I highly recommend visiting the spa here for whatever your favorite service is, but always make sure to request that your appointments be made ahead of time so you don’t miss out on this experience during your stay.

Carriage Ride

The second new experience I wanted to highlight for you is the carriage ride thru the grounds of the property. You guys know, I’m the first to admit that I’m both an Indoor and City Mouse and activities like this usually are not my cup of tea……But, boy was I wrong. Combine perfect crispy fall weather, turning leaves, a beautiful carriage, amazing company, Karl (with a K), and two handsome horse brothers named Stonewall and Zeb. These are the ingredients for a perfect afternoon spent at The Greenbrier! Our ride was approximately an hour long, covering 2.5 miles of the main grounds. We weaved through the golf course, through trees and streams, beautiful homes, and breathtaking scenery. This is one of the most relaxing things I’ve ever done.

So without a doubt, my latest visit to the stunning Greenbrier Resort was a resounding success. I cannot recommend a stay here enough! The hospitality, the quality of accommodations, dining, shopping, and activities is unparalleled. I can’t wait for my next getaway here and for the new experiences, it will hold! This escape right here in my state is the stuff movies are made of!
