Discover Jamaica: My All-Inclusive Experience with the Jamaica Tourist Board

I recently had the pleasure of visiting the beautiful island of Jamaica, hosted by the Jamaica Tourist Board, and I couldn’t be more excited to share my experiences! Jamaica is truly a paradise with stunning beaches, vibrant culture, and some of the best all-inclusive resorts in the world. Whether you're a couple seeking romance, a family craving adventure, or simply someone who wants to relax and unwind, Jamaica has something for everyone.

One of the best parts of staying at an all-inclusive resort is knowing that almost everything is taken care of! During my stay, I had the chance to visit several renowned properties, including Jewel Grande Montego Bay, Couples Sans Souci, Sandals Dunn’s River, and Hyatt Zilara. Here’s what you can typically expect when booking an all-inclusive stay at these resorts:

-Accommodation: Luxurious rooms and suites with stunning ocean or garden views, villas, rondovals, basically your room of choice.

- Meals: All meals are included, from lavish buffets to à la carte dining at gourmet restaurants. Most of these types of resorts include 24 hour room service as well or it may be a part of an upgraded package at some. You will need to confirm which type of package is associated with your accommodations of choice.

- Beverages: Unlimited premium drinks, including alcoholic beverages, are usually part of the package. In some cases, top shelf liquors and certain types of wine can be an upcharge, that however is property specific, so that is something you would need to ask prior to booking if you have a certain drink you don't want to live the luxury life without!

- Entertainment: Live shows, music, themed nights, and beach parties. All Inclusive properties are just that, they want to be your non stop shop for food, fun, relaxation, and entertainment.

- Water Sports: Non-motorized water sports such as kayaking, snorkeling, paddleboarding, and sailing. These are on a first come first serve basis usually or if you have accommodations that have concierge service or butler service, they can arrange these activites for you per your request.

- Fitness Centers: Access to state-of-the-art gym facilities. Not that most of us want to hang out at the gym on vacay, but there are those that do.

- Pools and Jacuzzis: Many resorts feature multiple pools, including swim-up bars and hot tubs. And oftentimes you can find pool games, music, and all around fun in these areas but also, there are "quiet pool" areas for those guests wanting to just relax.

- Airport Transfers: Convenient round-trip transfers to and from the airport. This is HUGE! Why you may ask, of course convenience comes to mind, but to me, as your travel advisor, this is the way to GUARANTEE my clients are transported safely to and from the airport from their resort of choice. Having reputable, dependable, and professional transportation when in destination is one of the keys to gaining peace of mind during your vacation.

- Wi-Fi: Complimentary Wi-Fi is often available throughout the property. Which is nice if you should need to check your email, etc. BUT what it's really for is posting those gorgeous vacay photos and making everyone at home jealous!

While all-inclusive resorts cover most of your basic needs and entertainment, there are a few things that may come at an additional cost. These can vary from resort to resort, but here are some of the most common upcharges:

- Spa Services: Treatments like massages, facials, and body scrubs.

- Motorized Water Sports: Jet skiing, parasailing, or deep-sea fishing.

- Excursions and Tours: Off-site tours like visiting Dunn’s River Falls, horseback riding, or zip-lining. And even though you can incur an additional charge for these, the resorts will oftentimes help you arrange these which I highly recommend. And this would be another safety factor for me. Using dependable and vetted companies verified by myself and the property is the only way to assure a safe experience for you and your travel party!

- Private Dining: Romantic beach dinners or private chef experiences. Again, sometimes these can be included in your stay beforehand so always inquire with me for details so that I am able to ensure these are arranged if desired and we have clear information on any additional charges if they apply.

- Premium Wine and Liquor: Some resorts offer top-shelf liquors or exclusive wine lists at an extra cost. BUT, at some properties the top shelf is a part of the play time. I will always make you aware of this ahead of time!

- Special Events: Wedding packages, vow renewals, or private celebrations.

I know that many times folks I have talked with have reservations about visiting some places in the Caribbean, but I am here to tell you, as I have always felt and just further confirmed on this recent visit, that Jamaica is open for business and its beautiful and warm people are ready to make you feel at home! One thing that truly sets Jamaica apart is the warmth and friendliness of its people.

Everywhere I went, I was met with genuine smiles and impeccable service. The staff at the resorts go above and beyond to ensure every guest feels special and taken care of. Whether it was a friendly chat by the pool or the personal attention from the dining staff, the hospitality in Jamaica is second to none.

The Jamaican people are known for their vibrant culture and easy-going nature, which shines through in every interaction. It’s easy to see why so many visitors return year after year. The island’s motto, “Out of Many, One People,” really comes to life through the welcoming spirit of the locals.

Jamaica is more than just a vacation destination—it's an experience that leaves a lasting impression.

The all-inclusive resorts offer a perfect mix of relaxation and adventure, while the hospitality of the Jamaican people makes you feel like you’ve found a home away from home.

If you’re considering your next getaway, I highly recommend Jamaica, where paradise awaits!
