It’s no secret that the Epcot International Flower and Garden Festival
is my favorite festival of the year! So I loaded up on the allergy
meds and took a stroll around the World Showcase to enjoy the
topiaries, food, and fun of this most floral of all festivals!
If you have not had a chance to visit during Flower and Garden, I
highly suggest you make your plans to do so. This festival is not only
visually stunning, but in my opinion has some of the best culinary
offerings of any of the seasonal festivals. Outdoor kitchens show off
for real with beautiful dishes inspired by fresh garden eats and an
array of edible floral accents. And don’t forget the delicious AND
beautiful cocktails and drinks to be sampled. Especially the Disney
adult favorite, violet lemonade and all its variations! This drink is
such a favorite, we made it at home during the pandemic!
This festival also has fun for every age. For example, this year you
can participate in the Garden Graze. A sort of culinary scavenger hunt
with a special reward at the end. Use your Festival Passport as your
guide on this fun food stroll featuring 10 tasty dishes. Once you’ve
tried at least 5 Garden Graze items—and collected a stamp for each—you
can bring your Festival Passport to Pineapple Promenade, where you’ll
receive a specialty treat!” -Disney Parks Blog. You can also get the
whole family involved as you follow Spike the Bee around Epcot as he
pollinates all the beautiful gardens. Here’s how it works:
Purchase your map and stickers at select merchandise locations for
$9.99 plus tax.
Buzz around EPCOT in search of Spike, then add a sticker to your map
when you find him.
At the end of your journey, take the map to Disney Traders or World
Traveler and receive a surprise.
That’s not the end to all of the fun to be had. The Epcot
International Flower and Garden Festival also hosts the Garden Rocks
concert series. You can enjoy concerts from amazing artists like The
Pointer Sisters to Plain White T’s! These concerts are on select
nights throughout the festival’s run and can be viewed easily at the
American Gardens Theatre. You can either choose to do the standby line
or you can book a Flower and Garden Dining Package, which allows you
premium access to the concert venue along with your dinner!
As I’ve mentioned many times before, festival season is just one of
the reasons that you should not be skipping Epcot! It is not only an
amazing park with so many things for your entire group to discover,
but this extra “layer of icing” of Flower and Garden makes your visit
to Epcot a seriously packed day of exploration, learning, and
adventure!
