This week I took a little out of the box adventure to Sandals Negril, a true All Inclusive in Jamaica with a group of our close friends. I was eager to expand my knowledge here and be able to really give you boots on the ground perspective of this beautiful resort.
Sandals Negril is tucked along this island’s famous Seven-Mile Beach and is about 1 hour and 30 minutes by car from Sangster International in Montego Bay.
Club Mobay
My best piece of advice for any Sandals experience in Jamaica…….Club Mobay!
If you are looking for that “No Worries” experience, this is the only way to go, Ya Mon! Once you land in Jamaica, you are greeted promptly by your Club Mobay representative that then fast tracks you thru all of the customs and entrance requirements of Jamaica and then takes you straight to a wonderful lounge while you wait for your included transportation to your intended destination. This service is also offered on your departure from Jamaica as well and is well worth its $80 per guest, round trip, the price tag for cutting out any guesswork of entry or exit requirements, and avoiding any lines or delays with your airport experience.
Once our transportation to the resort was ready, we were personally escorted there and had that 90-minute drive to Sandals. While this seems like a long time, taking in the scenery and enjoying some small talk with our driver made this journey very pleasant. Our driver, Marion, was an absolute joy. Telling us about each Providence that we drove thru and its people, as well as sharing so much information about the island itself and its people. It was a very pleasant drive around the island next to the ocean.
Once we arrived at our destination, we were greeted by the friendly and welcoming staff of Sandals Negril. Even arriving early, we were taken promptly to our room and well informed of all we could expect at the property during our stay. Our Caribbean Deluxe category room was clean, comfortable, and fully stocked with water, sodas, Red Stripe Beer, juices, and red and white wines.
This property has seven restaurants included in your stay and multiple bar locations as well. The food at each of the restaurants we dined at was good quality. I didn’t have any dish that was disappointing and you guys know how I am about my food! After all, it is my priority! Offerings for breakfast, lunch, poolside snacks and late-night cravings were all on point and easily accessible as opposed to a few other All-Inclusive properties that I have experienced. However, it is highly recommended to make reservations when you arrive for your dining experiences as these are not easy to come by on the spur of the moment. Italian, Asian, and Caribbean cuisine just to name a few, grace this property with their exclusive flavor profiles and offerings at no extra charge to you!
And when it comes to inclusions, the activities that you can take advantage of during your stay for no additional cost are amazing! Scuba Diving, water sports, day and night entertainment, land activities, and a fitness center….there is no excuse for boredom here! You can add other options into your stay at an additional cost like spa services, local tours, and private cabanas! I have to say that not being the type that loves a beach vacation…(ok, I know you are judging me), I did enjoy my time here at Sandals Negril. The atmosphere was classy and laid back. Totally transparent here….I feel like folks were enjoying themselves appropriately and the property was maintained safely! Security was a priority and that was just another level of the peace of mind experience here. I love this property for a honeymoon, anniversary, or birthday, but a good ole couples trip is so much fun to enjoy here with friends! Overall, our experience at Negril was really wonderful and I look forward to visiting again and venturing to more and more Sandals properties. This was a home run of a long weekend for us, I can only imagine the fun in store for longer stays! As they say in Jamaica…..you don’t have to worry ‘bout a thing, cause every little thing is gonna be alright….at Sandals!
