Having been to Flower and Garden a few times this season, this was a first time experience for Isabella and I.
We decided to start our day opening Epcot and had plans to go straight to Soarin’, but coming from the International Gateway direction, we noticed a completely empty (aside from the delightful few cast members) Butterfly House. Since it had been something that has intrigued us on our festival visits, we took advantage of both the low crowd and the cooler temperatures at that time.
BREATHTAKING
Literally entering this attraction was breathtaking!!! Calming music, beautifully scented flowers, and delicate butterflies quietly flying literally everywhere! It was such a peaceful place that it was unreal.
We spoke with two of the sweetest cast I’ve ever encountered. They explained to us that all the butterflies in the house are native to the area. Once the festival concludes, the screens will be taken down and the butterflies released into their natural habitat. The flowers will be rehoused at various spots on the property. They also showed us the cocoon houses. There were actually butterflies coming out of their cocoons! So amazing!!! Another amazing thing that the cast shared with us was a special little new butterfly that they had never really seen in the house before! His wing patterns were extremely unique!
I was so completely delighted with this experience and it’s cast that it is one of my top hidden gems of all time. If you are planning on a visit to next year’s Flower and Garden Festival, you must take a few quiet moments and enjoy the experience of the Butterfly House! I feel both adults and children alike would be so amazed. It was so wonderful to have those peaceful moments enjoying the butterflies and conversations with the cast. It’s such a nice and quiet way for us to have started our morning!
