It’s January, and the holidays are over. That usually gets folks thinking about planning out the year ahead. As a travel advisor, I too have to map out the year ahead for adventures, and places I want to see and experience so that I can share them with you at an expert level. And I am excited to share that this year is shaping up so far to be a great agenda of upcoming adventures! But I can’t help but reflect on the year behind us, so here goes!
Last year was full of lots of travel firsts, bucket list experiences, and Disney magic. So I want to touch on my top 3 travel moments of 2022 and give you a small sneak peek of the agenda that lies ahead in 2023!
Disneyland
First, let’s talk about Disneyland this year. And at the holidays no less. This has been on my bucket list for such a long time and this trip did not disappoint. If there’s something you should experience Disney wise on the West Coast, it is undeniably the holiday season at both California Parks. The overlays, the details, the perfectly chilly weather. It’s all there on steroids! And as I have mentioned tons of times before, I am no Christmas kid…..until I am at Disney! But Disneyland is on another level altogether. Since its inception, I have wanted to see the Nightmare Before Christmas overlay on the Haunted Mansion and I can tell you with certainty, it is one of my top MUST DOs of ALL TIME!
Disney Cruise – Wish
Next up, another bucket list item checked off, the Disney WISH. After sailing all the other Disney Cruise Line vessels, I was determined to keep up the streak during the Inaugural Season of the latest ship. This beauty was a sight to see! Although her design is a bit different than the rest of the fleet, the gorgeous details and amenities were amazing. The staff, as always, was so amazing, and to sail on this girl all bright and shiny and new was surely a big deal!
Disney Fairytale wedding
And last but not least, I can’t go without mentioning the event of the year. Bella and Brock’s Disney Fairytale wedding at the Twilight Zone Tower of Terror at Disney’s Hollywood Studios! While this was one of the most stressful travel projects I’ve had on my plate, this one was to remember. It was neat to learn the backside of all you see with Disney Fairy Tale Weddings, see the workings of the planning behind the scenes and let’s just talk about being in the park with no one else but your closest family and friends after park closing…..WITH Mickey and Minnie! A breathtaking experience!
So these were some serious heavy hitter moments for travel in my 2022. But as I mentioned, 2023 is shaping up to be a big one! So far on the agenda, we have Bimini, Mexico, Las Vegas, and of course lots of Disney to look forward to. But this year, we are venturing across the pond and will be spending time in Ireland!! I cannot wait to share the adventures of the coming year with you and expand my knowledge of more and more destinations! There is a lot on the horizon for 2023!
