With the recent return of park hopping, I’ve been reminiscing back on the day we embarked on the 4 parks in a 1-day challenge a couple of years ago. And this got me thinking…..a dangerous pastime, I know. (You see what I did there, LOL!) If I could only hit one attraction per park, what would it be and why? This opens up endless combinations and schools of thought, so I’m going to let you know what my current choices are and I would love to hear your opinions too!
Disney’s Animal Kingdom
Let’s start with the breathtaking scenery of Disney’s Animal Kingdom. Hang a left, then another left, and the environment changes. Unfamiliar vegetation and sounds of unknown creatures welcome you to the unbelievable and immersive land of Pandora. You know I am heading straight to Flight Of Passage! The feels, the sights, the sounds, and the smells! This ride is always on the top of my list! Without fast passes in place, going here early is the trick to snagging your seat on the back of an Ikran. And always be prepared for this challenging and breathtaking experience…..as the Nav’i say, Sivako! Rise to the challenge!
Epcot
Hop time! I’m headed to Epcot next! I’m not looking for princesses or race cars…..my sights are set on the Land pavilion for a nice flight with Patrick and the crew of Soarin’! I love this ride for many reasons, but it would always be my first choice in Epcot because of its nostalgia to me particularly. I can remember back when it first opened as Soarin’ Over California, how amazing it was during some of our first family visits to Walt Disney World. It was a pioneer of an experience and the foundation, in my opinion, of so much of the continued innovation we enjoy throughout all Disney parks worldwide! If not for Soarin’, where would we be?!
Disney’s Hollywood Studios
Next I’m read to stroll down Hollywood Boulevard and make a beeline to my must-do of Disney’s Hollywood Studios…….Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway! I know, I know, all the Star Wars fans and Great Movie Ride diehards are forming a big, unruly mob at this moment, but please hear me out! Don’t get me wrong, Rise is ahhhhhmazing, and I miss The Great Movie ride something fierce, but guys, we are talking THE FIRST ride featuring THE MOUSE! When it was first announced I wasn’t sure how I would feel about the replacement of a classic because I do detest change, but this was one of the most pleasant surprises of all time. Not to mention, every time I get inside the queue I get to remember the day I got to meet Disney Imagineer, Charita Carter, that helped create this amazing ride! And yes, I tell everyone that will listen in line with me every single time. And I’m so not sorry!
Magic Kingdom Park
Wrapping it up in the Magic Kingdom, I imagine it’s dark and there’s only one right answer to this must-do……The Haunted Mansion! I am never opposed to becoming part of the 999 happy haunts in this creepiest of places! For me, this ride is the perfect combination of creepy and whimsy. Grim Grinning Ghosts and a bitter bride, stretching portraits and dear, sweet Leota, beloved by all, I just can’t get enough! It has always been one of my favorite rides of all time……so much so that did you know Isabella actually shares a name with a resident of this famous mansion! I’m never going to pass up riding in a “doom buggy”!
I hope you enjoyed my must-do attractions in each park! We may or may not match up on some of these, but no matter what, there are really no wrong answers! Disney as a whole is always a MUST DO!
