I’m going to take the blog in a bit of a different direction today and
start a series to bring you along on a new and fun journey that my
household will be venturing into over the next 5 months! As some of
you may have seen, our Bella is engaged and has decided to have her
wedding at Disney! As we go through the process of planning, I’d love
to take you guys along with us in a series of updates scattered
throughout the time leading up to the event!

So far a while we have been in communications with the Disney
Fairytale Weddings team to secure a date and venue, create a room
block for guests, and other first step details. Many of you have asked
us about this process, so we thought it would be fun for us all to
learn together and have a little fun doing so!

Our first two hurdles of the process are date and venue approval. This
can be a stressful process. October was decided and then we sent that
information to the weddings team along with Bella’s top two choices of
venue. You may be assuming that because we have been Disney people
since the dawn of time, the Magic Kingdom would be the top choice for
this event, however, shockingly, it didn’t even make the list. There
are so many known and unknown choices throughout the 47 square miles
of property, that it’s a crazy list to narrow down. However, Bella had
it narrowed down to two definite options which we submitted for
approval…1. The Tower of Terror or 2. Pandora: The World of Avatar.

After a few unsuccessful attempts at grabbing one of the two venues on
specific dates, she finally got the great news that we had landed her
top choice of The Tower of Terror at Disney’s Hollywood Studios!

Definitely the most thrilling news ever! To utilize this venue
privately, you have to have your ceremony either at 5 am prior to park
opening or at 11 pm at night after park close. The wedding and
the celebration will be held in the Tower’s beautifully creepy courtyard
in the late hours of October 19th!

With the date and venue solidified we called out to one of our very
favorite vendors for some super unique, super Disney save the dates to
send out to our guests. Once Upon a Tee Shirt did not disappoint!
These save the dates were custom drawn and are adorable magnets that
folks can keep as a favor! These are headed out to our small guest
list for the actual ceremony and we cannot wait for them to receive
them! Along with save the dates, the wedding party will be receiving
their proposals this week as well.

A maid of honor, ring bearer, and flower girl are getting asked
the serious question to participate in this special day!

I know this is just the tip of the iceberg in this magical planning
process, but I wanted to start sharing so we could revisit it from
time to time! I know it’s going to be so fun and I have no doubt that
the end result is going to be the perfect mix of Disney, creepiness,
and old Hollywood flair! I’ll be sharing our next update on the
wedding within the next 4-6 weeks and I’m sure we will have a ton of
fun details to share!
