This week starts the unofficial Disney “Halfway to Halloween” celebration. Spooky season at Disney is such a unique experience, HTH kick off got me thinking of all the reasons it is so cool to visit WDW at that time. So, of course, I thought I would share some of those reasons with you on this week’s blog! And in fairness, yes, it’s just an excuse for me to talk about my favorite holiday! So, I’m going to narrow it down to my top 5 reasons to pay a visit to the Walt Disney World Resort during spooky season!

First off, there’s no better sign of spooky season arrival than those unmistakable Mickey pumpkins on Main Street USA. This is that one thing that starts the pitter patter of my Halloween loving heart! There is no more whimsical or lighthearted way that Disney welcomes the season than these flickering, smiling pumpkins beautifully dotting the Magic Kingdom. May be an unpopular opinion, but when these guys show up, it’s better than Christmas!

While it definitely is not spooky, the Epcot International Food and Wine Festival is just another fabulous reason to visit WDW during spooky season! This is the OG of Epcot Festivals and definitely the largest one of the year. Flavors of fall woven in and out of Epcot, especially the World Showcase is a wonderful way to experience the tastes of the season! Food and Wine usually kicks off in the late summer and runs well into the fall, so catching it during a spooky season visit is basically a given!

Everyone knows I am a sucker for merch. And Halloween merch is the top of the heap for me. Food and Wine Merch, MNSSHP merch, Halloween Disney merch in general is one of my all time favorite things! Stocking up on all the Halloween and Foodie gear is never a spectator sport for me. I always look forward to what Disney comes up with for merchandise theming, colors, I love it all.

Would I even be Carie if I didn’t mention the specially fall themed snacks and drinks?? I think not! From smoking potions to milkshakes topped with huge pumpkin cupcakes, I could eat myself into a frenzy at this time of year so easily! From general fall themed treats to full on “Not So Scary” holiday bites, there’s rarely a specialty snack during this time of year that I don’t love. Pumpkin, caramel, cinnamon, and so much more! Fall comfort food flavors are top notch, especially at Disney.

The crowning glory of Spooky Season in my opinion is without a doubt Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween party! This is one of my favorite events of the entire year! I love how this event has literally something for everyone! From concerts to candy, grave diggers to characters in their Halloween best, this event is king in my book. Dressing up is permitted and encouraged. Trick or treating (for FULL SIZED candy bars) is a MUST. And, enjoying the Boo to You Parade is a non negotiable! There is no better way to celebrate the Halloween season than MNSSHP at Magic Kingdom Park!

These are just a few reasons that I love visiting Disney during the fall festivities. And I am so glad that we can celebrate “Halfway to Halloween” by thinking about all the fun things that are coming our way later in the year! I cannot wait to see what WDW has in store for us in just a few short months! Totally Spooky or Not So Scary, I am always living for it!
