This week, I headed to Andy’s backyard to try the newly opened Roundup Rodeo BBQ! Located in Toy Story Land at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, adding to the restaurant lineup for this park. I think we can all agree that Hollywood needed another seated dining option. And while I wish I could say this is another character meal, it is sadly not. But I gave this family style restaurant a try to see if it was really worth all the pre-opening hype!

I visited during the lunch service time, however, the lunch menu options and pricing is the same. Pricing for this particular all you care to enjoy meal is $45 per adult, and $25 per child (ages 3-9). This includes the 3 appetizers salads, the main entree selections, a choice of 4 family-style side dishes, dessert, and your regular drink. I’m sharing the full menu, but you might be thinking it is much like Whispering Canyon as I did. But, surprisingly not. I found it really amazing that in the midst of all the BBQ, you could also have cedar plank salmon or a couple of plant-based options in addition to the entrees at no additional charge. And I must say on the dessert front, you can choose one mini pie in a jar per guest. And let me just say, do not sleep on the Forky cupcake!

Let’s dig into this menu a little deeper. The three salad options are light, fresh, and fun. Rootin’ Tootin’ Tomato salad, Rex’s Romaine and Kale Salad (this one had apples and was so yummy), and Wheezy’s Watermelon salad. I think this is a great way to get littles to at least try some veggies-type options without the sting of paying for something they won’t eat. These are like the rest of the menu, family style, and all you care to enjoy.

The main course platter comes standard with the following all you care to enjoy options: Smoked Ribs, Brisket, Sausage, and BBQ chicken. You can also choose to add the following plant-based options: Roasted Cauliflower, Bratwurst, or Rib Chop. Or, as I mentioned before, you can also request the cedar plank salmon and I highly recommend that you do!

As the menu reads, “Reach for the Sides” of which you can choose 4 per table, but again these are all you care to enjoy. Potato Salad, roasted veggie, Mac n cheese, baked beans, corn on the cob, loaded potato barrels, veggie slaw, or fried pickles. The sides we had definitely complimented the meal as I can imagine the rest would also. They were well made and actually very flavorful!

The desserts were wonderful! Lemon Blueberry Cheesecake, Chocolate Silk pie, Apple Pie, Peach/Strawberry Pie, and the Forky Cupcake are your options and I can tell you from my “research” that there is not one wrong decision in this lineup. Perfectly portioned and literally packed with flavor these jarred sweets are something I’ll be dreaming about until my next visit to Roundup!

The restaurant itself is absolutely adorable. It flows so well with the theme of the land and I love the interactive things they throw in during the meal, like a salute to the Toy Soldiers guarding Andy’s Backyard and a time to freeze in your tracks because…..”Andy’s coming!!”

Admittedly, I did not anticipate giving RRBBQ a wonderful review. Doing BBQ and doing it well in a theme park is a serious challenge. But they did it and did it well. The entire meal, from start to finish was amazing and flavor packed. There were so many options that I would really be shocked if you could go here and not find something that you absolutely loved! I was so pleasantly surprised by the whole experience that I cannot wait for my next play date in Andy’s Backyard so I can roundup some amazing eats at Roundup Rodeo BBQ!
