Summer is HERE, and if you’re like me, your bags are either already packed or almost zipped up for your next big adventure! Whether you’re heading to the beach, the mountains, a theme park (Disney, anyone?!), or across the globe, I’ve got you covered with my Top 5 Summer Travel Tips to keep things smooth, stress-free, and FUN.
Hydrate Like It’s Your Job
Summer travel means sunshine, heat, and humidity and lots of it. Whether you’re walking around a theme park, sightseeing in a big city, or lounging on the beach, hydration is key. Bring a reusable water bottle and fill it up whenever you get the chance.
Pro tip: Pack some electrolyte packets in your bag for those extra hot days or long flights!
Early Bird Gets the Best Experience
Trust me on this, as much as I am not a morning person, getting up early during your summer trip is SO worth it.
You’ll beat the heat and the crowds, especially if you’re visiting popular destinations. Morning hours are cooler, calmer, and perfect for photos (golden hour, anyone?).
Plus, it leaves you plenty of time for poolside naps later. Win-win!
Keep Snacks on Hand (Always!)
Between delayed flights, long road trips, and “hangry” kids (or adults 🙃), having snacks on hand is a travel must.
I love bringing easy options like trail mix, granola bars, dried fruit, and a few sweet treats. You’ll thank me later when you’re stuck in traffic with no rest stop in sight!
Pack Light, Layer Smart
Summer wardrobes are all about lightweight, breathable fabrics and smart layers.
I always pack a mix of tanks, shorts, a light sweater or jacket for chilly restaurants or airports, and comfy shoes for walking.
Don’t forget a hat and sunscreen! (Yes, even on cloudy days.)
Build in Downtime
This one’s HUGE.
It’s tempting to pack your itinerary from morning to night—but I’ve learned that the most memorable moments often happen when we slow down. Give yourself permission to sleep in, enjoy a long lunch, or spend the afternoon at the pool. You’re on vacation, after all!
