Making the most of a Disney trip is always a factor when planning a visit and there are so many ways to do this, but the convenience of where you choose to stay plays a big part in your decision. Most folks generally gravitate to the Magic Kingdom area resorts when thinking of close proximity to the parks. But, there are a few resorts with unbelievable convenience that you may not realize! So, I am going to give you my thoughts on the Epcot area resorts around Crescent Lake and just how close these are to access to the theme parks and a few other fun things that you may not realize!
The resorts around Crescent Lake, often referred to as the Epcot Resorts are Disney’s Boardwalk Inn and Boardwalk Villas, Disney’s Yacht Club Resort, and Disney’s Beach Club Resort and Beach Club Villas. These resorts surround Disney’s famous Boardwalk area, where there are restaurants, entertainment, and lots of activities going on at all times! What I love about this area, is even when it is occupied with guests, it’s still relaxing and quiet! It’s the perfect place to grab a pizza and ice cream and sit out on the boardwalk and watch the Friendship boats come and go. These resorts are considered in the deluxe tier of resorts, but most rooms are not in the top tier of deluxe pricing.
As for the things I really love about these resorts is the convenience that I alluded to earlier! Let me delve into that a bit more! These resorts are a short walk from the International Gateway entrance to Epcot and a 15 minute walk or boat ride from Hollywood Studios! The unbelievable ease of getting to these two parks is unparalleled. Imagine staying here, visiting a park in the morning, coming back to swim in the pool, which happens to be amazing, then strolling back into Epcot later for dinner! Sounds like a perfect day to me!
I also really love the variety of offerings around this resort area. It is absolutely perfect for a relaxing “resort” or “break” day if you have built that into your schedule. There is no shortage of things to do for all ages. You are within the shortest walking distance from eateries like Beaches and Cream and Yachtsman, as well as evening entertainment like JellyRolls and the Atlantic Dance Hall! In the mood for a margarita? It’s there! Want to watch a movie on the beach under the stars? Well, let’s do it! Even take a casual stroll and see street performers like jugglers, singers, and musicians! There are literally so many things to love in this upscale and laid back area of Walt Disney World Resort! So if you are looking for a deluxe resort that is away from the center of the action but still gives you the luxury and close proximity to the parks, you cannot go wrong in this Coney Island style boardwalk area. Lots of fun in the heart of Walt Disney World resort, but the definite feel of an escape to a turn of the century Atlantic City resort! You would never know you were in the back door of two of the main theme parks unless you are out after dark enjoying the view of the amazing fireworks…..while enjoying an ice cream! The Boardwalk area resorts are the place to be!
