Halfway to the Holidays is here at Walt Disney World Resort and that
means visions of sugarplums are dancing in our heads because of all
the announcements of things we can expect this holiday season while
celebrating with the Mouse! Typically we see sneak peeks of treats,
merch, and all the things holiday. And of course, details on Mickey’s Very
Merry Christmas Party, BUT this year’s announcements had quite the
surprise stuffed under the tree! Not only will we see the return of
Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party, but this year we have something
completely new!

This year at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, there will be a brand new
special ticketed event known as Disney Jollywood Nights! And the more
I see about this event, the more I know I have to attend! Not to
mention, this special event will close with the return of the Jingle Bell,
Jingle BAM! And that is definitely something to celebrate. Disney
Parks Blog describes the party this way. It’s a holiday vibe like
you’ve never felt before. Sights of sparkling décor, sounds of modern
beats over classic holiday songs, tastes of craft cocktails and
decadent dishes.”
And as I read this, I can’t help but think that this might be the
adult holiday event we’ve all been dreaming of! I know, I know, Disney
is for kids, BUT let’s get real, we adults love a good Disney party
and for all intents and purposes a jazzy party this seems to be!
Throughout Hollywood Studios there will be different entertainment
areas inspired by different genres or vibes if you will! Here’s the
official list of some of the highlights you can expect during this new
event as told by the official Disney Parks Blog.”

You’ll be welcomed to Disney Jollywood Nights with a DJ spinning a mix
of holiday tunes. Commissary Lane comes to life with a lively Latin
Street Fair. Kermit the Frog and Miss Piggy will be very special
guests at Theater of the Stars along with some of their Disney
friends. And … What’s this? Hyperion Theater will host a spirited
sing-along – more details to come.
Encounter glitz and glamor galore at two limited-capacity
entertainment experiences – a jazz lounge at The Hollywood Brown Derby
and an other-worldly soiree at The Hollywood Tower Hotel Courtyard.
Wrap up the night and enjoy the return of a festive favorite, “Jingle
Bell, Jingle BAM!” This Santa-sized nighttime spectacular is
jam-packed with music, fireworks, special effects, and dazzling
state-of-the-art projections.

Pose with friends for holiday-themed Magic Shots and two new Disney
PhotoPass experiences throughout the night. Complimentary digital
downloads of your Disney PhotoPass photos captured during the event
are included with the price of your ticket.**
Meet Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, and the rest of the iconic gang in
Animation Courtyard on a hot set with holiday props. Get into the
spirit with your fave throwback friends like Powerline Max and Phineas
and Ferb at Echo Lake and strike a pose with Edna Mode and chill with
one of her super friends at Pixar Place.

Guests can buy specialty offerings throughout the party like Spicy
Korean Chicken on a Mini Funnel Cake, sweet delights including a
colorful Christmas Tree Cookie Stack inspired by the iconic Echo Lake
Christmas Tree and classic cocktails and holiday beverages that can be
enjoyed during the party.

I’m going out on a limb here with my opinion for you guys. Much like
the Villains After Hours events of pre-pandemic eras, this sounds like
a complete reboot of that idea, but branching out to Hollywood Studios
and embracing this amazing park and its various areas and themes. I
really believe, if executed well, this could be one of the newest cult-following like Disney type events like Disney of old! Think Star Wars Nights but
instead add glam, jazz, and drinks. I think it’s safe to say, I’m in
and I cannot wait to share my experience at this event with you in the
coming holiday season! I’m so anxious to see how it compares to
Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party. I love that Disney is coming up
with new offerings with new energy. I think it really gives a great
opportunity for folks to experience something new and different that
just might be more up their alley than the traditional parties!
