It’s no secret that I LOVE Disney food, but most of that love and discussion revolves around either table service restaurants or super yummy snacks that we find throughout the park. Many times there’s such a focus on those, that we forget about those quick service jewels that don’t get put in the spotlight too often! If you are a go with the flow type guest that doesn’t want to be tied to a certain reservation time, there are some amazing quick service restaurants you can spontaneously visit when the hunger hits! So, let’s talk about some of the best ones to satisfy your food craving crew!
Casey’s
So I’ll go ahead and get my first pick out of the way, mainly because it’s a controversial choice. I’m taking you to the Magic Kingdom. We all know this park is not down for it’s cuisine, but one of my favorite super Disney places to grab lunch is Casey’s. I know what you are thinking, hot dogs…meh. You’d be wrong. Super huge hotdogs, baskets of fries, brownies. It’s all American comfort food at its most simple…but powerful! And after all, there’s really nothing more Disney than hub grass and hot dogs!
Geyser Point
Next, I want to highlight a quick service that you may not know about. It’s not in a park but just a ferry ride away from Magic Kingdom and it is the perfect escape from a hectic park day. I’m talking about Geyser Point at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge. This open air eatery is packed with tons of high quality and amazing dishes as well as specialty cocktails and appetizers. It’s much more a table service feel than quick service, so knowing this and the fact that reservations are not required makes this one a no brainer. Let’s get real, with cocktails and charcuterie in the same sentence, you’ve hit a home run!
Satu’li Canteen
Taking an adventure in the forests of Pandora, the World of Avatar in Disney’s Animal Kingdom we come upon one of my favorite quick service locations on the property. Satu’li Canteen is unbelievably top notch, not your average theme park experience in true Disney fashion. From slow roasted sliced grilled beef to tofu, to exotic desserts, this meal has a little bit of everything with a Na’vi twist! The hearty noodle or rice bowls with beef, veggies, and amazing dressings are sure to fill your appetite before you head over for a flight on the back of a Banshee!
Regal Eagle Smokehouse
I can’t possibly talk about quick service without bringing up Regal Eagle Smokehouse in the World Showcase in Epcot! From picky kiddos to dads with big appetites, you cannot go wrong dropping in here for lunch or dinner. The platters are huge, with lots of main dish choices. The mac and cheese is next level. Smokey and flavorful and one of my favorites. And let’s just talk about the pickles…….if you are not getting an entire basket full to enjoy with your BBQ, you’re just doing it wrong!
ABC Commissary
While this quick service location is often overshadowed by the draw of Tatchos or the curiosity of intergalactic cuisine at Docking Bay 7, the ABC Commissary is an outstanding choice for a solid meal. Located in Disney’s Hollywood Studios, this TV and POP culture centered eatery pulls out all the stops from burgers to unbelievable salads! Yes……salads! ABC has one of my favorite summer salads on it’s menu, the perfect light but hearty selection for a day in the Florida sun! This is another place where the portions are huge and filling and there is literally something on the menu for everyone, which is key when visiting the parks with your family!
While there are tons of amazing quick service options at Disney, these are just a few that are both fun and people pleasing that make them good choices for just about any situation. If you like doing your dining on the fly, these are some great options around the property to fill up those tummies, big and little, and continue about your day of adventuring!
Again, what I love about quick service at Disney is that the portions are large and sometimes there are a lot of entrees that are shareable, which is definitely cost effective! Remember, on the go, you don’t have to just snack, there’s a quick service for everyone!
