It has been one exciting week in the grand scheme of Disney news and happenings! Seeing Disneyland finally open its doors again was amazing, and we cannot wait to get back! But today I wanted to talk about the other MAGICAL news of the week…..the official reveal of the Disney WISH, Disney’s latest addition to its fleet of luxury cruise ships! While we don’t know every detail of what awaits when we step on board, here’s the official things that we have learned so far……and I find it the perfect reason to get excited about the return of sailing AND the introduction of this first of its kind, Triton class ship!

So the first key detail we have learned about this amazing ship is that is filled with stories from Disney, Pixar, Marvel, and Star Wars. And from what I can see, in true Disney fashion, these will be as much fun for the adults as they are for the kids! From spectacular, newly imagined dining experiences, to out-of-this-world kid’s clubs, to unique new character experiences, to specialty-themed adult lounges, and more relaxation and fun than you can imagine, the Disney WISH has so much in store for her guests!

First, let’s talk stats. The Disney Wish will include 1,250 staterooms that can house up to 4,000 guests just like its older sisters the Dream and Fantasy, BUT she is about 15,000 gross tons more than both ships. Weighing in at a whopping 144,000 gross tons. And it’s the biggest improvement versus its sibling ships, this girl will be powered by liquified natural gas! She is the first of 3 new ships that will be powered this way, set to join the fleet by 2025. At 1,119 it is also the longest ship in the fleet!

Next, let’s talk about experiences! We all know that Disney is king when it comes to giving us all the feels, and from what they have shared about the newest experiences we can expect on the WISH, this will be nothing short of amazing! Families can visit the all-new Hero Zone to compete together in physical challenges and game show-style competitions. The Walt Disney Theatre will headline Aladdin and 2 all-new shows have not yet been revealed. Luna, a brand new entertainment style venue will feature family entertainment and the Toy Story Splash Zone will let you make a splash on the family Slide-a-saurus Rex! But the icing to this entertainment cake can be summed up in one word……..AquaMouse, the first-ever immersive Disney attraction at sea!

Of course, Disney is a master at children’s fun-filled activities. In the Oceaneer’s Club, there is 3 separately themed spaced staffer with specially trained counselors to sweep your littles up into their own imaginations. Marvel Super Hero Academy where you can train alongside favorite Marvel superheroes, the Walt Disney Imagineering Lab, where you can become an Imagineer and create your own Disney attraction, or Fairytale Hall where princes and princesses can step into their very own storybook setting! The WISH will also, of course, feature “It’s a Small World” nursery for children 6 months to years of age as well as Edge and Vibe for tween and teen cruisers to hang with friends.

Let’s not leave out the adults! It’s no secret that Disney knows how to entertain adults as well. One of the highlights of the newest in adult experiences is undoubtedly the Star Wars: Hyperspace Lounge! Disney describes it as such..”Families are invited to experience this interstellar watering hole during the day, but at night, the lounge jumps to lightspeed and becomes a club with a cantina-like vibe exclusively for adults.” Along with the adult-only Quiet Cove and the newest adult-only lounge, The Rose we are also getting two adult-exclusive dining experiences at Palo Steakhouse and Echante…which I am completely excited for! French fare and theming based on one of my all-time favorite characters, Lumiere, from Beauty and the Beast, these culinary experiences will most certainly be a highlight of an adult night out during our sailings!

One of my top reasons for being excited about the WISH is the 3 new rotational dining experiences this ship will host! I mean, we all know, food is my motivation! 1923 (named for the year the Walt Disney World Company was founded) is a Hollywood-themed dining experience with flavors from the Golden State. Leap into your own superhero story while dining at Worlds of Marvel, and enter the enchanted kingdom of Arendelle and dine on Norwegian-inspired dishes with Princess Ana and Queen Elsa!

Lastly, we know that the staterooms are unparalleled! Decorated with the world from iconic Disney films, these rooms are the perfectly restful retreats you desire during your voyage! Concierge Oceanview staterooms are over the top themed for some of your favorite princesses and some even feature Disney’s first-ever forward-facing views! Royal suites offer a spiral staircase and stained glass art. A royal yet cozy space you will never forget.

With these details that have been released, I cannot help but start planning my adventure to sail on this amazing ship! And you can too! Booking for the general public will open on May 27th and earlier for certain Castaway Club members! I cannot wait to book my sailing and I would love for you to go along too!
