My first visit to Walt Disney World during the Epcot International Flower and Garden Festival this year has come and gone and it did not disappoint! Flower and Garden is one of my favorite of all four of the seasonal International festivals held at Epcot throughout the year! This year there were lots of returning favorites and a few new things that I was able to enjoy as well! I’m so glad this particular celebration runs thru July 4th. So I’m making my list now for my next visit to the festival this year to catch a few more things I may have missed this first go-round!
There is no shortage of entertainment during this year’s lineup! Garden Rocks concerts are back in full swing, cultural performers are out again in full force, Voices of Liberty, Jamminators, characters, the Butterfly House, and so much more! So if you are wondering about a shortage of things to entertain the whole crew at Flower and Garden, I can assure you, you will not be left wanting!
Topiaries and stunning floral displays are back and in full force!!! While many of the old standbys are out and about, I spotted several new additions throughout the park as well as a few displays from sponsors such as Scentsy! My all-time favorite topiary, the Three Caballeros, was back and beautiful in its usual spot at the entrance to the Mexico Pavillion! And my favorite of the new additions was indisputably the other 6 of the Seven Dwarfs! The addition of these guys in the Germany pavilion was an absolutely perfect addition to the traditional Dopey and Snow we usually see! Nothing could be more perfect than the complete display!!!
I was very happy to get to try many of the specialty booths for this festival season! Again, many old favorites are back and lots of new additions to experience as well! A few of the most surprisingly amazing offerings I tried, were the Lavender and Honey Chicken flatbread and the deconstructed Arepas! Both of these dishes we unexpectedly amazing!!! I did notice that even though I was visiting during Spring Break season, I did not wait more than 5-10 minutes at any of the food or drink booths during my visit! This was much different from my experience this year at the Festival of the Arts, surprisingly! This made it very easy for us to eat around the Showcase festival booths for lunch and try multiple items with ease. I must admit, that each dish and drink we tried, we phenomenal! No shortcuts here! Portions were substantial for small plates and these dishes were all packed with amazing flavors!
On a side note, I loved the little additions to Living with the Land that gave a nod to the festival! I always love seeing what they come up with there during each seasonal event! You know how I feel about this ride do the little surprises throughout were well enjoyed, especially the tribute to Violet Lemonade!
Overall, my first trip to Flower and Garden for 2022 was a success! It’s definitely worth repeating this year and every year after! Like all Epcot festivals, there are literally things to discover in every nook and cranny of the park! Lots to learn and discover for littles as well as adults! I look forward to heading back and trying more experiences at this year’s Epcot International Flower and Garden Festival.
