I never thought in a million years that I would be using these two words together as an official announcement but, FREE DINING is back! Talk about Disney shocking EVERYONE! After many many years of people asking, wishing, and sending smoke signals for its return, I cannot believe it is back! So in the spirit of this surprising announcement, let’s unpack the details to see if this white whale of a deal is right for you!
First and foremost, in order to even think about snagging this deal of the summer, you have to be a Disney+ subscriber. And you must keep your status current until you check out! Secondly, you’ll need to be willing to go to Disney in the height of summer. This offer is only good for most nights July 1-September 30. And, thirdly, you cannot combine this with any other offer. So your package will need to be at least 4 nights WITH the park hopper attached to your tickets!
Ok, now that this is out in the open, is it right for you?? If you already have Disney+ and intend to travel during the summer months, then this promotion is a no brainer, especially if you have a larger party OR tweens and teens that love to eat and snack throughout the day. But you may want to compare this offer to the current room promotion, which I am happy to do to see if it actually is the better deal number wise for your particular stay! Sometimes the word free doesn’t always mean the numbers are always in your favor!
Also a note, if you are staying in a value or moderate resort, your offer would entitle you to free quick service dining, if staying deluxe, then you would get the full Disney dining plan. So this is definitely something to consider. BUT, be aware, if you don’t want the price tag of the deluxe resort, you can upgrade to the Disney Dining Plan for a difference in cost. Again, I am going to always compare this option to the current room discount just to make double sure you are getting the most bang for your buck!
