With our love for Harry Potter and all things Wizarding World, we couldn’t resist throwing a Harry Potter birthday bash this past weekend!
Officially this would be Harry’s 40th birthday! Can you believe it?
And, on top of all this reason to celebrate, we were definitely missing the crew at Universal Orlando Resort and the Wizarding World of Harry Potter, so it was a nice way to feel a little of that magic here at home until we head back in a couple of weeks!
We decided to make an inspired cocktail we found called a “Weasley Sour”, the Specialty Chicken sandwich with apple butter mayo from The Leaky Cauldron, and we finished off with some Harry inspired treats from one of our favorite local bakeries, Rock City Cake Company! (Special orders and events only at this time) They hit it out of the park with cakes, cookies, snitch and chocolate frogs cake balls, and our favorite were the Sorting Hat cupcakes! These cupcakes were actually filled with one color of each of the four houses. We had a lot of fun choosing a cupcake and biting in to see what house it saw fit to place us in!
Tons of folks have asked us for the recipe for the specialty chicken sandwich. It turned out so identical to the one we LOVE at the Leaky Cauldron, but the answer is there was no real recipe! We went from memory! I guess you could say the Leaky Cauldron is a favorite “haunt” of ours when we go skulking around Diagon Alley.
We followed up our meal with movies! What else would you expect! We actually chose to watch The Goblet of Fire! I also followed that up by watching Fantastic Beasts and where to find them And Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald.
This was an amazing way to end our little tribute to Harry on his 40th birthday! All those movies were a great help to get me dreaming about our next adventure in the Wizarding World of Harry Potter!
