Not in the mood for quick service food while jaunting around Disney Springs but you don’t have a reservation to satisfy your tummy??? I have the answer for you!! It’s time to make your way to Jock Lindsey’s Hanger Bar in the heart of Springs!

So this bar has been on my list of things “to do” for quite some time, yet it never seemed to work out time wise for me during recent visits. But, oh my goodness, am I glad I finally got to pay a visit to this hangout rich with Disney storytelling, creatively themed drinks, and the YUMMIEST shareable appetizers and small plates ever! While our intention was to head in for a drink and to try the famous giant pretzel charcuterie (I’ll break down the deets on this a little later), this turned out to be one of those….let’s just cancel dinner and stay here kinda places!

I can’t go any further tho without mentioning the back story of this cool place! Here are the details, courtesy of Disney Parks’ official website. “How did Indiana Jones’ barnstorming pilot Jock Lindsey end up in Disney Springs?

Fans of Raiders of the Lost Ark can’t forget Indy’s easygoing pilot Jock Lindsey—the owner of a pet snake named Reggie—but how did Jock arrive here?

The two globetrotters stumbled on Disney Springs in 1938 while chasing down a mythology-based tip in central Florida. Attracted to the town’s natural springs and lush terrain, Jock bought some waterfront property and eventually settled down, piloting seaplane tours across the fast-growing Sunshine State.

Jock eventually built an airplane hangar, air tower, and runway, and invited fellow members of The Society of Explorers and Adventurers to pay him a visit. His home base soon became a popular stopover and watering hole for world travelers and locals alike.

Jock Lindsey’s Hangar Bar was born!” So if you are an Indy fan, this is definitely the place for you!!

Aside from the theming, the main reason this stop was on my list is undoubtedly the Air Pirate’s Cargo Loaded Pretzel. I know you are all heavily surprised. As if the sheer size of this pretzel charcuterie was intriguing enough, these pairings put this board in at least my top three charcuterie style appetizers on the property, if not the top spot!  This savory, spice, and sweet concoction is shareable with at least four folks….well, unless you are at a table with me! We also tried the snakebite sliders and Satipo’s empanadas which were both delicious! These three apps made the perfect sized evening meal! And like I mentioned before, so yummy, they were a cause of canceling dinner!!

On to the libations! My friend, Vanessa, tried the “Cool Headed Monkey”. Served in a tiki style monkey head, that features Starr African Rum, Van Der Hum Tangerine Liqueur, fresh Lime Juice, Watermelon, and Pineapple Juice. Even with its very juice filled recipe, don’t expect this one to be super sweet, but rather super smooth….to help you keep a “cool head”. I tried one of the bar’s off menu, secret drinks that bartender Jock was rumored to have specifically created for the Mayor of Disney Springs…apparently I qualify! This one is right up my alley! Woodford Reserve bourbon, blackberry brandy, simple syrup, and fresh lemon juice made me consider running for re-election as Mayor of Springs without question!

Situated on the water and next to the Boathouse amphicar launch, this is one of the most relaxing places to plot your course for the next adventure here at Walt Disney World resort! We were able to sit here enjoying our apps and drinks while enjoying the music coming from nearby evening performers by the water. And I want to add that the appetizers and environment here were definitely appropriate for kids as well. Dispute it being named a bar, this does not require a certain age to enter and would definitely qualify as more of a lounge environment. Boat watching, music, and just a generally light hearted environment make this a consideration for families as well, especially those with tween to teenager aged kiddos! I highly recommend you “hang out” at Jock Lindsey’s Hanger Bar, real soon!
