Plaza Restaurant breakfast was a definite bucket list item for our most recent trip to Walt Disney World. They began serving breakfast at Plaza back in November 2018, so I have been very anxious to try it since we were unable to fit it into our December schedule this year. I was able to grab a 9:05 reservation for our first day in Magic Kingdom. I feel like after spending some time at Plaza, that I must agree it is quite the hidden gem of Magic Kingdom dining options. It is easily overlooked because of options like Cinderella’s Royal Table and Be Our Guest, however, after our experience there, I have to say, that it was quite a pleasant surprise!

The check in

The process is quite the same as other Disney dining locations. We checked in with the hosts at the stand and were promptly called into the restaurant for breakfast! We were seated in the solarium, so we had a perfect view of the castle while dining. It was also a quieter area than the main dining area and that is a perk if you are not particularly a morning person.

Isabella’s favorite breakfast

Having reviewed the menu prior to our visit, we spotted two versions of Isabella’s favorite breakfast, Eggs Benedict. There was an option with country ham, served on buttermilk biscuits or a lobster version served on fried green tomatoes. If you are familiar with Isabella, you can probably already guess that she chose the latter. I selected the children’s portion of Mickey waffles, served on banana pastry and served with a side of bacon and sausage. It goes without saying that the Mickey waffles were great. Mickey waffles on Main Street USA…..how can you go wrong. Isabella was seriously surprised at the Lobster-Fried Green Tomato Eggs Benedict for sure. She was completely happy with her choice and said that it was well cooked and very filling.

Plaza Mimosa

Along with the wonderful meal choices, there were also a variety of breakfast drinks on the menu. The Plaza Mimosa was a twist on the regular mimosa which replaces the traditional orange juice with our beloved “Stitch juice”. Other specialty drinks included a berry blast smoothie and a peach bellini. A lovely and refreshing way to start your tour of the Magic Kingdom.

Overall

I am so glad that we took the time to visit this quaint spot on Main Street to have our morning meal. The atmosphere was quiet and cheerful with wonderful views of the morning happenings in the hub. In usual Disney fashion, the wait staff and hosts were more than friendly and so accommodating. If you are searching for an out of the box breakfast spot in the Magic Kingdom I would definitely recommend putting Plaza on your list. I really think this is a great option if you are traveling with older children that are not really into character dining or in our situation, an adult trip. I highly recommend Plaza for breakfast and we will absolutely be back for a visit “real soon”!
