Seems the buzz on everyone’s lips in the Disney community right now is the upcoming release of the new Disney Genie! While we only have a small bit of information so far, I wanted to touch on some of the high points that we have learned to date. Of course, I will be learning this new service inside and out and keep all of you updated on all the latest information as it is released!

Saying goodbye to the old fastness system with the new complimentary version of Disney Genie may be a hard pill to swallow, but according to what we’ve learned, this will be the way to make the most of your park time each day of your visit. Customizing your day based on your travel party’s interest in rides, food, and entertainment is the goal. This complimentary digital service will be easily accessible in your My Disney Experience.

In addition to the complimentary version, there also be an upgraded version know as Disney Genie+ will also be available for purchase. This version will allow you to search and choose the next available times to ride rides or select experiences using the all-new Lightning Lane! This purchased version reminds me so much of MaxPass (retired) at Disneyland! We’ve had amazing experiences with MaxPass and being able to get so many rides and attraction visits within the course of our day when we have visited in the past. It is definitely a service that I have wished for some time would make its debut on the east coast and now here we are! Not only will the lightning Lane be part of this upgraded experience, but much like MaxPass, this service will also include photo features much like the Memory Maker.

Right now, we know few other details about this new digital service, but I am excited to learn about it and help every navigate thru to make the most of your visits! Disney Parks Blog has stated that they are planning to release this as well as our ability to add it to existing resort packages sometime this Fall. We do know that pricing at Walt Disney World for Disney Genie+ will be $15 per ticket, per day, and $20 at Disneyland respectively. And we have also learned that as a perk, on-property guests will get an early selection window for their attractions! I know that I was very excited to hear this part! In addition, guests staying on property at Walt Disney World Resort will be able to enjoy early theme park hours and extended evening hour benefits as well! I just thought I’d throw that fact in for good measure. Overall, I am excited to see this new service be released and see how it will help more and more magic return to the Walt Disney World Resort! Whether you choose the complimentary version of Disney Genie or the upgraded Disney Genie+, I am so intrigued to see just how this will help all guests fill their visit with the experiences they dream of! While I am usually not a fan of change, especially at Disney, good things are coming and I believe that more and more magical things are headed our way this year! And, I cannot wait to be a part of it!
