Mickey's Autumn Adventures Brunch at Storytellers Cafe

Mickey's Autumn Adventures Brunch at Storytellers Cafe: A Magical West Coast Welcome

This Halloween was extra special for our family as we celebrated our grandson Chaplin’s very first visit to the West Coast! And what better way to start the day than a magical brunch at Storytellers Cafe? As soon as we stepped into the cafe, the warm, inviting atmosphere enveloped us, setting the stage for a festive morning. The fall decor was spot-on, with just the right amount of whimsy to make it both kid-friendly and charmingly cozy. Situated in Disney's Grand Californian Resort and Spa, this cafe is easy to get to and you can sit back and relax by the roaring fire in the Grand Cali lobby while you wait for your table!

Character Interactions Like No Other

The highlight of the brunch was, hands down, the fantastic character interactions.
Disney characters in fall attire greeted Chaplin and the rest of the family with so much enthusiasm that even the adults couldn’t resist getting in on the fun. Watching Chaplin’s reactions—eyes wide with wonder as beloved characters stopped by our table—was an unforgettable experience.
The characters took the time to engage, creating special moments and memories we’ll cherish. Each character lit up his little eyes but his interaction with Dale made us all just about cry our eyes out! Even with Chaplin being 6 months old, Dale proved the Disney rule of a character not letting go until the child does. Chaplin hugged him for a solid 5 minutes and Dale snuggled him the whole time. It was the best experience and something we will never forget!

A Not-So-Typical Buffet

As for the food, it was far from a standard buffet. Storytellers Cafe takes brunch to the next level with a variety of creative dishes that go beyond typical offerings. We indulged in everything from savory breakfast classics with a twist to unique seasonal specialties, all served fresh and artfully prepared. The attention to quality and taste was evident in every bite, making it a culinary treat as well as a visual feast. We loved the carved turkey, the pork chilaquiles, the amazing savory salads and of course Mickey waffles and so much more! As you guys know I am not the buffet fan at all but this was out of this world!!

Final Thoughts

For families looking to add a magical touch to their day, Storytellers Cafe delivers an experience that goes beyond food. It’s about the laughter, the character magic, and those precious moments that become family traditions. Chaplin’s first West Coast visit couldn’t have started off in a more memorable way, and we can’t wait to return and make more memories!
