Out of all of the things that we are waiting for Disney to bring back, there is nothing I hear more than the Disney Dining Plan and all its variations. Because of this and all of the speculation as to when we will see the dining plan return, it got me thinking……why do we love the dining plan so much AND why are we literally salivating for its return. Well, let’s figure it out!
When I really sit and think about why I totally love having the dining plan option, my first thought is freedom to choose TONS of variety! I feel like when you are utilizing the dining plan, it totally allows you to explore so many options as far as meals and snacks. When you are making reservations at lots of different types of dining locations, and you think in terms of credits instead of dollars, in my opinion it frees up my brain to think about the actual choice of cuisine instead of a dollar amount. It makes me more likely to try new things and expand my palate. And not just with meals, I absolutely LOVE using snack credits during Festival seasons. It is literally like tasting the world and not having to think about wasting or regretting your choice, while giving you a fun and exciting way to explore fun and amazing new flavor combinations!
The next reason I love the dining plan is a little bit of a selfish one……I love that I can choose the most expensive menu item and not have to worry about the cost! Usually when we are on vacation, we have budgeted an amount for dining and in the case of having the dining plan, the playing field has been leveled. Whether it be the least or most expensive item on the menu…..it’s an option for you! I also think that this adds to the element of relaxation during your trip. Not having to worry about the cost of a meal, because you have a prepaid dining package, in my opinion, allows you to not only enjoy your meal, but enjoy that amazing meal without the stress of a large bill coming to you at meal’s end.
Onward and upward to the next reason I am wishing for the swift return of the dining plan……it makes us feel like we are closer to that all inclusive vacation experience. Using credits for snacks, drinks, and meals, makes me feel as if I can make any amazing food choice I’d like. Grabbing any of the most wanted snacks and drinks without even thinking of how that is impacting the vacation’s daily spending budget! Want a Mickey pretzel? Go for it! Dying to try a Dole Whip?
Let’s do it! All inclusive to me equals no stress, equals relaxation, equals magic!
While we do have some character dining experiences up and running, I cannot await the return of the dining plan for another reason…….all character dining will most likely return! Character dining is thought to be one of the most magical experiences during a Disney vacation.
Sharing a meal, a smile, grabbing an autograph, and not having to stand in line for some of our most beloved characters is one of the top bonuses! Character dining is one of the signature experiences that set Disney apart from most other vacation destinations! I mean, where else can you bounce around with Tigger at breakfast or dance with Ballerina Daisy for brunch?
While I am not sure at this time when the dining plan will return, I literally cannot wait to hear the announcement. But you can all rest in the fact of knowing that the minute I know…..you will know! Not only will it make things feel just a little more back to normal, but that extra layer of magic will be there for us to indulge in! While it’s no secret I will still dive into all the amazing food has to offer, I sure will be happy to have back the amazing dining plan options so that I can eat more and more and more! After all, calories don’t count at Disney!
