Several weeks ago, I had the privilege to visit Mexico to explore some of the all-inclusive properties there and to expand my knowledge of the area for my guests that may want to travel here. In the course of our 5 days, we saw 16 different properties, and Nickelodeon Riviera Maya was a top favorite for me!
SpongeBob to Ninja turtles, ALL ocean view rooms, gourmet cuisine, and an onsite water park, this family all-inclusive destination hit all the high marks for me as I know it will for some of you! Let’s talk about this brand-new property and some of the highlights of my visit there!
Every room at Nick is an Oceanfront
Yes, you heard me right….every room at Nick is an Oceanfront, Swim-up Suite designed specifically for families of 5 with, get this, 2 bathrooms! There are also three specialty suites for larger parties with amazing themes, features, and decor. The Big Kahuna features all things 90’s and Nick, the Lair Suite is the hangout of those pizza-loving Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, and finally, you can live it up like SpongeBob in a Pineapple suite, inspired by the underwater home of someone of our favorite characters.
There have never been more family-friendly designs in accommodations! I was so impressed with the space and how thoughtful these amazing rooms were laid out. Fun AND functionality is a key element!
Let’s talk Aqua Nick
Speaking of fun for the whole family, let’s talk Aqua Nick! An explosion of fun and imagination is what you can expect at this property’s own water park! Pools and lazy rivers give the perfect place to relax, while slides and slime lead the way in the fun factor. An once you’ve worked up Soak Summit Tower-sized appetite, you can head to Aqua Nick’s own gourmet open-air casual eats known as Aqua Bite! And theist part is…..it is ALL included in your stay! You can also add a cabana with a dedicated VIP poolside service for an additional fee.
The ocean, swim-up rooms, pools, and a waterpark…..that’s so much to do! No doubt this makes us think of what else is included in the cost of this amazing resort……..FOOD! Six specialty restaurants are scattered throughout the resort in addition to several bars, the Aqua Bite that I mentioned before, and 24-hour ROOM SERVICE!
Overlooking the ocean, the Yacht Club is the perfect open-air concept restaurant to start off your day with an amazing breakfast. Good Burger is just like walking into the original home of the Good Burger and they can take your order for lunch and dinner! Do you have more Turtle tastebuds???? Then Piazza Italian Dining is the perfect upscale pizza joint that would satisfy the appetite of and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle!
As if all of this isn’t amazing enough, add in Nickelodeon Place, the one-stop-shop to see up to 20 of your favorite Nick characters and several kids clubs of different age levels are on site as well, where kids can just hang out, catch a movie, try out their moves at some dance parties and of course, GET SLIMED! And Nick has the perfect spots to unwind while the kids enjoy their clubs. Nick Riviera Maya has 3 bars to grab a tropical drink and enjoy the beautiful resort. And what’s even better is, these are all included in your stay!
And, Náay Spa and relaxation lounge is the perfect way to melt your cares away and fully enjoy your vacation. This spa is 4,00 square feet and boasts 7 treatment suites, a couples suite, saunas, steam rooms, and a salon. There are also spa treatments for kids. All these services are at an additional cost and will need to be scheduled.
If you crave art and food, Le Spatula enjoys an amazing meal while taking in a themed art show. Midday cravings hit while relaxing at Riviera Maya?? The Nick Bistro and its unbelievable food display are sure to do the trick! Here in the states, we would refer to this as a buffet, but in Mexico, the concept of a food display turns that idea on its head! Small, freshly prepared portions are constantly refreshed and replaced for a high-quality experience. And lastly, if you’re health-conscious, Bikini Bottom Wellness Bar is what you are looking for!
Overall, Nickelodeon Riviera Maya was a complete home run in my book! The property is pristine, the staff was amazing, and there is no shortage of fun for families and 90’s kids all around! This is one of those resorts that I really felt was an amazing option for the Cancun area. Very upscale, yet laid back and whimsical, Nick is the perfect pineapple under the sea in Mexico!
