Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure

This has most definitely been one of my most anticipated attractions opening for the World’s Most Magical Celebration! We’ve all known for a long time that Epcot was in need of a facelift, and this is just one of the amazing additions that have finally come to fruition. Beginning construction back in September of 2017, even with delays from the pandemic, this news attraction in the World Showcase opened as scheduled to the public on October 1, 2021, during the kickoff of the 50th celebration…..BUT, we were able to snag a pass holder preview spot during the soft opening of the new expansion of the France pavilion and the attraction itself and I could not have been more excited.

Having watched this expansion and attraction rise from behind the construction walls and getting those sneak peeks while riding into the International Gateway on the Disney Skyliner, getting to finally step into it was just like Christmas! The aesthetic is perfectly Paris, perfectly Ratatouille in every sense of the word. I’ll be sharing my thoughts on the expansion as a whole and the Le Creperie in another blog though because today I want to solely focus on the ride!

In order to ride Remy’s, as of now, you must obtain a virtual queue spot. After our passholder preview, we did obtain a spot in the virtual queue to ride a second time after the public opening. Remy’s will also be a part of the Individual Lightning Lane selections upon the launch of the Disney Genie on October 19, 2021, and we will have specific details for everyone on that also! Either way, you choose to ride, it is an Epcot must do as our one friend Stacy would say!

The outside section of the queue for the most part is covered and well shaded. Once you enter the inside of the queue, you will begin to feel like you stepped into the movie. Hidden Remy wallpaper, an artist studio, and a walk past Gusteau’s 3 Star Restaurant suddenly you are on the streets of Paris and hopping into the cutest trackless mouse ride vehicle. These ride vehicles are equipped with just a lap bar and can seat up to 6 guests. There is no real height requirement for this ride also, making it the perfect attraction for the entire family!

Once you take off, you suddenly realize that you have been shrunk down to Chef Remy’s size and you are smack in the middle of the bustling kitchen of Gusteau’s! We find Remy and Gusteau trying to decide on the perfect dish to serve to guests when things take a crazy turn! Scampering and skidding in and out of trouble, you will follow the famous Little Chef on his adventure! I won’t spoil how the adventure turns out, but I will say it is so much fun!

This attraction doesn’t have any excessively scary parts for little ones, but I will point out that if you are prone to motion sickness, this ride can be a bit challenging in certain scenes. A trick I learned regarding motion sickness from a cast member, was to concentrate on Remy’s tail when things get a little crazy! I found this to be a great way to not be dizzy or feel uneasy. So, if you do tend to get motion sickness, you can definitely try this tip as it worked really well for me!

This new attraction was just the addition that the World Showcase needed! It is so perfect for families! So fun and entertaining, whimsical and adventurous! I really loved it. I will say though with all honesty, in the scheme of trackless rides like this, I think Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway is the superior ride on the property right now, but RRA is far from a disappointment!

Overall, I am very happy with the new attraction and expansion and look forward to spending time there during my visits! I think this culinary journey will definitely be a hit with guests young and old! I look forward to hearing what each of you thinks about it once you get a chance to experience Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure!
