I think we can all agree that with the continuation of this pandemic, the only way we can really get to the other side is to focus on good, fun, positive things! Being cautious and staying healthy is a must but just for fun, and to fill my brain with good stuff, I’ve compiled a list of my current MUST HAVE Disney “things”! I thought it might give me and you something fun to think on!
There are always certain items that I consider a must have every time I think of Disney, but since March, some of those things are on pause so since then, some new or possibly old things have popped up on my radar that I just can’t live without. So, without further ado, let’s get to it!
One of my saddest moments upon my return to Magic a Kingdom was realizing that my beloved, favorite snack, cheeseburger eggrolls was on pause…..BUT, never fear. I know they will return soon, so in the meantime, let’s talk about my discovery of the Kakamora float!
While nothing could ever replace those spring rolls for me, this sweet treat helps to take one’s mind off the loss. The amazing coconut soft serve floating in pineapple juice and nonalcoholic blue curaçao and topped with a chocolate cake pop is in my opinion, better than a Dole Whip! There, I said it!
Confession time
This quarantine time has turned many of us into expert shoppers, or in my case honed my shopping skills! For a while there, buying Disney merch was the only thing that was keeping me sane……ok that’s reaching. Anyway, one of my newest obsessions in the pursuit of all things Disney, is a good and adorable Loungefly bag! I have had one of these bags for around a year and I find that they are the absolute perfect size park bag for me! I am able to fit all my necessary items for a day at the parks with plenty of room. The bonus here is variety!!! There are SO MANY to choose from! Something for everyone without a doubt! This is an amazing and useful item that is so fun to collect! It’s impossible to have just one!
Next up is something I could never live without on any level, but especially being stuck inside most of the time…..a cheerful Disney mug! From coffee to wine, there’s something to be said for a happy mug to drink it from! What I love about Disney mugs on any given day is that they always take me back to a park day memory or just make me smile, reminiscing about my favorite places on Earth!
Parker House Rolls!
We discovered this hidden gem last year, but of late it has become a regular haunt for myself and my travel buddies every single time we visit…….a reservation at Ale and Compass! Three words……Parker House Rolls! Since our return to Disney back in July, a reservation at Ale has been a staple of our schedule! The food is AMAZING and the staff is even better! It just like Cheers….where everybody knows your name! And after all our visits, they should! Going over to dinner after a great park day to laugh and eat with friends could not happen at a better place than Ale and a Compass at Disney’s Yacht Club Resort!
I am sure if I sat and thought for much longer, I would have a list of tons more things, but I don’t want to bore you, so I’ll end with one last must have……whether it be Regal Eagle, Cali Grill or the amazing City Works, you really do NEED macaroni and cheese! I don’t know if it’s where I never really got into it as a kid or the comfort food factor or both for that matter, but it seems like there is no more euphoric moment for me in my recent visits than sitting down with a big ole bowl of Mac n cheese! So much so that I’m working on a future blog, the Tour De MacnCheese Disney style! That’s an adventure I’m happy to take in the basis of pure research of course!
Honestly, our first night back at Disney for the preview, it was one of my most relaxing moments sitting at Cali Grill eating lobster Mac and cheese while enjoying the views of purple hues cast on Cinderella castle and Space Mountain. In my mind this HAS to be what my personal heaven would look like!! While I know my must have list is not breaking news, I do hope it takes your mind off anything less than fun for a bit! It’s always super fun for me to think on things like this! I hope it gives you a smile and a chuckle! We could all use a few more of those in our day!
