Swimming….not my thing, but I can definitely be talked into hanging
out by a Walt Disney World Resort pool. I’m going to give you, of
course, in my opinion, the top spots to take a dip! Whether it’s a
vibe, a special feature, or just the location, these resort pools are
the best of the best and the absolutely perfect place for that midday
cool-off or even a night swim!
Courtyard Pool
First up is the Courtyard Pool and Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort and
Spa. Located next to Big Pine Key and Boca China sections of the
resort, this quiet pool is the perfect place to grab a drink and
relax! This pool has some of the best cast members on property! Not
only are they there to ensure the safety of guests, but they provide
excellent poolside service! Also, just a note, Courtyard is a great
place for a night swim….with a side of Magic Kingdom fireworks! You
can easily catch the fireworks while splashing around!
Doubloon Lagoon
Next up on my list we are “goin down the Bayou” to Port Orleans French
Quarter’s amazing Doubloon Lagoon! Not only is this a great pool area,
but you can “Come slide down Scales, the 51-foot-long snaking sea
serpent slide, whose tongue deposits you into the lagoon with a mighty
splash.” Also equipped with an amazing aquatic play area and splash zone for
the kids! These features make this particular resort pool really stand
out for big easy style fun! And for the adults, Mardi Grogs, the pool
bar, is a great place to grab a New Orleans-themed drink to relax.
Big Blue Pool
Looking for the perfect pool for families? Look no further than the
Big Blue Pool at Disney’s Art of Animation! Complete with underwater
music and surrounded by giant jellies, this pool pulls out all the
stops for fully immersive Disney theming! One of the largest pools on
the property, also has a pool bar, daily activities, and a Finding Nemo
themed splash pad and play area. Feel like you are a part of the
beloved movie while hanging out in the Big Blue!
Stormalong Bay
Lastly, we have to talk about the undisputed king of all Disney Resorts
pools…….Stormalong Bay is shared by Disney’s Yacht and Beach Clubs. This
pool literally has it all! It boasts one of the only lazy rivers on
the property, an area with sand bottom, separate quiet areas and active
zones, Hurricane Hannah’s excellent pool bar, and is cleverly flanked by
one of our favorite Disney dining locations, Beaches, and Cream Soda
Shop! This pool is complete perfection! There are daily activities in
multiple areas of the Bay and quiet sections for adults with hot tubs,
etc literally hidden in plain sight! And the cherry on top of this
amazing area is the fact that you can easily catch glimpses of
Harmonious fireworks from nearby Epcot while catching a late evening
swim!
While every pool at each Disney resort is amazing, these are some of
my favorite standouts and definitely things to keep in mind when
selecting your resort! There is absolutely something for everyone in
each and I hope this list helps you get to know some of these swimming
areas a little better! After all, how can you go to Disney and not
need a little swim during your magical vacay?
