Walt Disney World 2024: Park Hopping, Disney Dining Plan, and More Magical Changes!
We have been getting tons of news for new things coming to Walt Disney World in 2024 so I thought I would highlight just a few that may tickle your fancy! I can’t wait to hear what you guys are looking forward to the most, so I’ll get started with my list!
Here we are approaching 2024, nearly four years post pandemic and there have still been a few pesky pandemic rule type things just hanging around on property and I am so glad to report that we are finally saying good bye….to restricted park hopping!! Once that parks reopened after covid and park pass reservations were put into place, Disney enforced a rule of not park hopping until after 2pm. No fun, am I right! Well, say goodbye officially to this rule on January 9, 2024! All day park hopping returns to the most magical place on earth! So good news for those of you that want to park hop, especially those of you that love the 4 park challenge!
Next up is the return of something that the pandemic took completely away from us…..the beloved Disney Dining Plan! Honestly I think this was the one request I have heard the most in its absence. And as of January 9, 2024 you can enjoy a much more inclusive feel to your Disney vacation by adding this pre-paid plan to your resort stay package! Mickey bars, popcorn, and Dole Whips….oh my! I must admit, I am so happy for the DDP’s return! Allowing folks to pay for 90% of their vacation before even arriving really does relieve the stress of spending while on your trip!
Although as a Disney super fan, I am typically a hater of any change, I must admit that the revamp of Splash Mountain into Tiana’s Bayou Adventure is something I cannot wait to see fully unfold. Selfishly, I am dreaming that this section of Magic Kingdom may magically transform into New Orleans Square from my beloved Disneyland Park in Anaheim. I mean, who doesn’t want in park beignets on demand and jazz music filling the air?? It’s just one more layer of magic to add to MK Park that I am welcoming with open arms.
Next up is something we are saying goodbye to in 2024 and I am not sorry OR sad about it! Park reservations will be a thing of the past (for most park goers). Gone are the days of sweating availability or missing out on a certain event or special occasion due to limited availability. And if you loved the spontaneity of the past, you have it back! If you are not tied to a certain park for dining or other extras, you can simply wake up and go to the park of your choice! Long live the old days!
There are more changes and good things on the way for the coming year, but these are definitely my highlights! I am so glad that we are moving forward, and there looks to be so much fun in store!
