As summer moves closer our way, most brains are thinking of vacation. I have seen so many folks wanting to branch out and try other types of trips, especially cruising. Seems the cruise industry is as robust as pre-Covid times with demand these days and there are so many options to choose from. Of course, you know Disney quality is a cut above most vacations and the Disney Cruise Line is no exception…..but is a Disney Cruise right for your family or travel party? Well, I’ll present my case and you can be the judge! After all, you know I always think that you know your family best. And with the right information, you may just happen upon a pleasantly surprising new vacation adventure!

First point, I know you are thinking, that could be a lot of money. And of course as with most things Disney they are not cheap, however, Disney is one of the most inclusive type cruise lines you will find! All food with the exception of a few adult-only special offerings is included. You know food on vacation can add up quickly and having all your meals, snack, AND 24-hour room service is a considerable value, especially with hungry kids! Not to mention the soda, coffee, tea, milk, juices, etc that are included as well! Think old-school Disney dining plan and you can never run out of credits! Not to mention the inclusion of character appearances, Broadway style shows, movies, and so much more! I mean, they even feed you and have drinks available on Disney’s private island, Castaway Cay! This is a great saving when you think of how these things would typically add up on a theme park Disney experience.

I cannot say enough about the safety of the kid’s clubs and the activities they offer for every age group! From littles to toddlers, tweens to teenagers each club is unique to the interests of age groups with multiple activities going at a time for great choices for the kids and what they participate in. Heavy security measures ensure your children are safe while being swept away in the magic of Disney. And, if they need mom and dad….they are just a message away! This gives unbelievable peace of mind to parents wanting to enjoy a bit of adult time!

I’ve heard so many folks talk about the number of miles they walked on their Disney trips. The weather unpredictability, etc. And for those who are gun-shy of those types of things when planning a family trip, you have found your perfectly mixed adventure! Want the magic of Disney characters, shows, the yumminess of Disney food, and the amazing encounters during character dining WITHOUT walking, running, etc? You have come to the right place. Disney Cruise Line is your very own sailing Disney city complete with all the magic and a lot less mileage on your legs! A lot of times you may feel rushed in the theme parks, overwhelmed by the crowds, or just not into that theme park experience for that particular trip. This is where Disney Cruise Line gives you just the right amount of the Disney magic you’d expect mixed with the relaxation and pampering you crave from a truly relaxing vacation experience!

Another thing I love about cruising in particular is the ability to see so many different places and experience different cultures in such a reasonable amount of time and with the safety of Disney Cruise Line getting you there and back. This type of trip allows you to not lock yourself into one destination and adds to the excitement. New learning experiences and unbelievable opportunities await you as you sail the seven seas with Mickey and his friends!

Now, I could definitely go on and on about the amazing things that await your family if you take a Disney Cruise, but I thought I would let one of my mom’s squad that has sailed on Disney Cruise Line with an older group of kids had to say about their adventure and you can add it to the list of magic aboard Disney Cruise Line.

“Our family recently had the pleasure of sailing on the Disney Dream for Spring Break. My husband and I sailed with our kids’ ages 11, 17, and 22. They also brought along friends ages 17 and 21. This cruise was a wonderful choice of vacation for kids in the tween, teen, and young adult age groups. The Disney ship provided the perfect opportunity for the kids to have the freedom to explore while mom and dad could relax knowing they were safe and having a blast. Our 11-year-old had the choice of the Oceaneer’s Club and Lab or the tween club-the Edge. Both had plenty of games and activities to keep him busy. He also enjoyed the pools and several rides on the AquaDuck. For the teens, there was Vibe, a club for ages 14-17 with a wide variety of games and activities listed on the schedule daily. They also took advantage of the pools, hot tubs, and shopping. There was constantly something going on that the kids could enjoy, either on their own or with us, from movies in the theater or on the Funnelvision by the pool to the evening shows or more active choices like putt-putt golf. But my favorite time every day was when we would all come together for dinner. The kids enjoyed trying new things and appreciated the option of ordering known favorites if the specialty items were too adventurous for them. The servers were wonderful with the kids making suggestions for things to try and giving them riddles to solve each evening. Our 17-year-old declared the cruise was her new favorite way to vacation and I have to agree. It was the most relaxing vacation I have ever had. From the moment you step on the ship, Disney takes care of everything-including entertaining the kids, so you can sit back and relax.” – Jenniefer G.
